Information Services Data Quality Specialist
The Information Services Data Reconciliation Specialist will work with the IS department Business Analyst and developers to validate report results by comparing the results back to the source data to ensure accuracy and completeness of data. The position will be responsible for identifying discrepancies, reason for discrepancies and reporting the inaccuracies in detail back to the IS team members. The IS Data Reconciliation Specialist may also perform other duties including but not limited to technical, user and training documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate MS Access, Power BI and SSRS report results.
- Compare results to SQL Server database source data.
- Identify, compare, and resolve data quality problems.
- Determine root cause for data quality errors
- Create detailed discrepancy reports
- Report discrepancies to the IS team
- Evaluate large dataset for quality and accuracy.
- Determine business impact level for data quality issues.
- Work with Programmers to correct data quality errors.
- Use MS Access, Excel or Structured Query Language in review process.
- Formalize technical, user, project and training documentation.
- Attend IS review meetings and record meeting minutes
- Assist with quality and solution testing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree in Information Services Decision Support, computer science, mathematics, accounting, bookkeeping or similar discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in a data reconciliation, accounting reconciliation or other similar role.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
- Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Ability to evaluate data, recognize inaccuracies and discrepancies, document and communicate findings
- Exceptional communications skills both written and verbal
- Microsoft Office Professional proficiency
- SQL Server Database knowledge
- Structure Query Language
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to move about facility and spend time in mill environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Circumstances may require meetings throughout the facility, including the mill and offsite. Some travel may be required. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
