Associate Help Desk Support

Provides support to end users on a variety of information technology issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems with the direction of IT Manager or Associate Network Administrator for the administrative office and on-site mills. Responds to KACE Help Desk support requests, telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem using KACE Help Desk to ensure a timely resolution.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide end-user support and train users in voice/data usage.
  • Provide end-user support and train users in Microsoft Office Professional.
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshooting for custom developed MS Access applications.
  • Administer KACE Help Desk system.
  • Troubleshoot hardware problems for desktop systems and peripherals.
  • Configure and install workstations and peripherals for network access.
  • Maintain workstation and peripheral inventory.
  • Cell phone configuration and administration
  • Computer Consumables requisition process
  • Assist the Associate Network Administrator with projects as scheduled.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Preferred: Vocational Education and one to two years helpdesk experience.

Minimum: Equivalent experience considered

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Knowledge of commonly used Information Technology concepts, practices and procedures
  • Troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving
  • Verbal and written technical and non-technical communications
  • Organized
  • Set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with end-users of varying skill levels and positions.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to climb stairs and move about an industrial manufacturing plant.  Job will require the lifting and placement of computer hardware and tools, viewing monitor screens, reading manuals, and sitting or standing for extended periods of time.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The work environment includes typical office areas and a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.  Characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
