Data Analyst

The Data Analyst will work with the BITS Team, Business and Systems Analysts and Software Engineers to develop reports for the organization.  The position is responsible for aggregating data from multiple sources and creating dashboards and reports to provide a historical view as well as predictive and prescriptive view for decision support.    Responsibilities will also include documenting, debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting BI solutions.  Our goal is to produce intelligence to aid the business in decisions and give users a predictive and prescriptive analytical view of business performance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

       SQL Views, ETL, Power BI and other reporting and analytics tools

       Interview business users and document reporting/analytics requirements

       Use data to create models that depict trends in business processes

       Create reporting specifications

       Work with Business and Systems Analyst to design reports

       Work with Software Engineers to source data.

       Identify, compare, and resolve data quality problems.

       Evaluate datasets for quality, accuracy and to determine potential data correlations

       Formalize technical, user, project and training documentation.

       Assist with quality and solution testing.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

       Associates degree in Information Services Decision Support, computer science, mathematics, accounting, bookkeeping or similar discipline.

       3+ years of experience in a data reconciliation, accounting reconciliation or other similar role.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

       Structure Query Language

       SQL Server Database knowledge

       Microsoft Office Professional proficiency

       Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills

       Exceptional communications skills both written and verbal

       Analytical and conceptual thinking skills

       Ability to evaluate data, recognize inaccuracies and discrepancies, document and communicate findings

       Strong attention to detail

       Advanced problem-solving skills

       Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical organization members

       Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to move about facility and spend time in mill environment.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Circumstances may require meetings throughout the facility, including the mill and offsite. Some travel may be required. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
