Information Services Business Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Business Analyst will assist with the design specifications for custom system enhancements, reports for MES, AX and CMMS/EAM in order to make the process more efficient and effective.  The Business Analyst will work with organization subject matter experts in order to fully understand and specify systems and reporting needs.  The analyst will review, analyze and evaluate user needs as necessary to create solutions that support business strategies and communicate results. The analyst will document system requirements, define scope and objectives, and create system specifications that, upon management sign-off, will be used by our programmers for system development and implementation.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate business processes.
• Gather, review and analyze data requirements.
• Perform requirements analysis.
• Create business process flows.
• Define and validate business systems and reporting solutions that meet business needs, goals, and objectives.
• Analyze requirements for automation, change or reporting.
• Assess the impact of change.
• Develop design specifications.
• Develop business requirements.
• Develop functional design documentation.
• Develop technical requirement document.
• Assist developers with conceptual prototypes.
• Assist with test plans.
• Assist with quality and solution testing.
• Monitor to ensure the solution has fulfilled the requirements and recommend modifications if required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field.
• Aptitude for business processes, technical design and specifications.
• Five or more years' experience as a business analyst required and in a manufacturing environment preferred

• Demonstrates analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously with minimal direction, while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to move about facility and spend time in mill environment.  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Circumstances may require meetings throughout the facility, including the mill and offsite. Some travel may be required. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
